and the angel said unto her, fear not, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.

Is this how the religious and the respectable saw Mary, the mother of Jesus? According to all accounts, yes. But what about us today? How do
we see people? Do we see with our eyes, or with our heart? Sure we love those who are easy to love. We can do that. But if we could stretch the boundaries of our perception to see the real treasures inside , we will stretch our heart as well. The God who invaded earth that first Christmas, is the God who wants to invade and enlarge our hearts. Unlike us, He does not keep his distance. He’s always there, as close as a whisper. He cannot be shocked by anything we’ve done or anything done to us. So we don’t have to believe the lies that say we are not worthy, that there is no hope, or that things can’t get better. God only has our best in mind, the beauty and the life for which we were uniquely created. He can heal broken hearts and redeem the dreams he put there. When suddenly we realize this, Love ovewhelms us, and we have little problem responding with all our heart, and even say, as Mary did, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word.”
